TERMS & CONDITIONS

To avoid any misunderstandings here are our pupils’ terms and conditions, we have tried to make them as easy to read as possible for you:

Our Instructors

At 2ND2NONE DRIVING SCHOOL LTD, our driving instructors are all self-employed franchisees; therefore, we act as their agent, taking bookings and transferring payments across to them. The contract for driving lessons is between pupils and their instructors.

All our driving instructors operate a payment upon booking policy - All driving lessons must be paid for at least 48 hours prior to your lesson time. Any later and you will be in danger of losing your booking but you may still be charged. Your instructor will not turn up for your driving lesson if payment has not been made.

Once you have made a payment to us, we will forward the total amount to the driving instructor, after the first lesson has been conducted. In the event you would like a refund, please approach your instructor first. If you are unhappy with this, we recommend that you pay your instructor for each lesson individually, though you will not be able to take advantage of a block booking discount if you choose to pay per lesson.

  • For your financial peace of mind and protection, we strongly advise any block payments should be made to 2ND2NONE DRIVING SCHOOL LTD over the phone or online. We cannot be held responsible for any large sum cash payments you decide to pay to your instructor during your lessons.
  • 2ND2NONE instructors will provide the pupil with a dual controlled car, in a clean and roadworthy condition.
  • All of 2ND2NONE instructors will professionally represent themselves and be smart in appearance.
  • 2ND2NONE driving school has a strict, no smoking policy.
  • 2ND2NONE driving instructors will abide by an equal opportunity policy and will not discriminate against race, colour, creed, gender or sexual orientation etc.

OUR TRAINING VEHICLES & In-Car Cameras

Almost all of our driving school cars will have CCTV fitted to thw winscreen and rear window. These CCTV cameras are normally out facing to help protect both ourselves and you in the event of a road traffic accident. Some of the cameras may also be recording sound from inside the vehicle. If you have any concerns about this please speak to your driving instructor.

DRIVING TEST

Your 2ND2NONE instructor is entitled to withdraw their car for the usage of your test, should they feel you are not ready. Your 2ND2NONE instructor will always give you a minimum of 5 working days notice, providing you haven’t come to the instructor at short notice (less than five working days).

You are allowed to take your driving test if you do not pass a mock driving test, as long as your 2ND2NONE instructor is confident you still have a reasonable chance of passing.

Very occasionally, instructors can become ill at short notice. In the event that this happens, we will endeavour to find you another instructor, but cannot guarantee anything at such short notice.

In the event the instructor’s car is not road worthy for your driving test,
your instructor and 2ND2NONE will do their utmost to find you a like for like vehicle. However, we cannot guarantee an identical vehicle.

If the DVSA examiner has declined to go out on test in your instructor’s car because it’s not roadworthy for any reason such as a nail in tyre or brake light not working, your driving instructor will pay for your a replacement test.

In the event that you (the pupil) damages the car during the driving test, where the total repair cost is less than the instructor’s insurance excess, you will be required to pay for the damages to the car.

PAYMENTS TO US AND YOUR ALLOCATED INSTRUCTOR

All bookings made or paid through the office will incur a 2.5% admin fee. - Payments will be taken at the time of booking your driving lesson with 2nd2None Driving School Ltd - Any following payments made through the office will also be subject to a 2.5% administration fee.

Payments through the Total Drive app will also incure a 2.5% admin fee.

BACS payments to the driving school or direct to the instructor will not incure the 2.5% admin fee.

Once a payment has been made to the driving school office, the lesson fee will be transfered to your allocated instructor - the money doesnt belong to us the driving school and we are only taking the payment on your instructors behalf.

Any block bookings paid to the instructor direct by cash or bank transfer is solely between the pupil and the franchised instructor. In the unlikely event you are unhappy or need help resolving an issue, you can contact the office, and we will try to help resolve the situation.

All payments made through the Total Drive app will also go directly to your driving instructor and not to the driving school. If you have paid through the app and have an issue, please contact your instructor first before talking to the office.

Like any type of cash purchase; be it from a shop or to your driving instructor, you are entitled to ask for a receipt. Please ensure you ask for a receipt on the day of paying cash to the instructor. You must inform us immediately after the lesson if you haven’t obtained a receipt and would like one.

We cannot be held accountable for any cash/bank transfer payments made to your 2ND2NONE instructor. The safest and most secure way to protect your money is by paying 2ND2NONE DRIVING SCHOOL LTD by debit/credit card, bank transfer.

If you are experiencing difficulty with a cash/bank transfer refund from your instructor, 2ND2NONE will try to assist on your behalf. In the event we can’t recover your money, we may refer you to the following so you can report and make a claim against your allocated instructor:

  • Citizens advice
  • Money Claim online
  • DVSA

In some instances, where we believe your complaint is of a serious nature, we may ask you to report your complaint to the DVSA who are the organisation that decides whether a driving instructor is fit and proper to remain on the register. Once you have filed your complaint, we will endeavour to offer you a full/part refund in accordance with what we think is fair at the time. We may concur with the DVSA (with your permission) for their opinion on the matter before making a final decision.

If you have paid your driving instructor by cash or bank transfer, then your complaint should be against your self-employed instructor, not the driving school.

If you have paid 2ND2NONE DRIVING SCHOOL LTD, then your money is protected, and you will receive a refund/part refund depending on the complaint and how many hours are still outstanding. If we ask you to put your complaint in writing to the DVSA, you should do this and CC us into the email: [email protected]

By doing this, you help us and the DVSA take the necessary action against the self-employed instructor, which prevents this from happening to potential customers again.

All our driving instructors operate a payment upon booking policy - All driving lessons must be paid for at least 48 hours prior to your lesson time. Any later and you will be in danger of losing your booking but you may still be charged. Your instructor will not turn up for your driving lesson if payment has not been made.

CANCELLATION POLICY

You are required to give a minimum of 48 hours notice to your instructor should you wish to cancel a lesson. Anything less than 48 hours and your instructor is entitled to charge you the normal lesson rate or the prorated amount if it’s a block booking, which includes the discount.

Please note different rules apply for intensive courses that have been booked.

It is your responsibility to present your valid UK provisional driving license before the start of your first lesson. Failure to do so entitles the instructor to cancel any lessons you have booked within 48 hours, and you may be charged.

2ND2NONE cannot be responsible for any lesson/test cancellations due to mechanical breakdown or other emergencies such as illness/bereavement. We will endeavour to find a replacement vehicle/instructor as soon as possible, but this is not guaranteed.

INTENSIVE DRIVING COURSES

When you book your intensive driving courses we will take a non refundable deposit in order to book your courses, your driving test and allocate you a driving instructor.

The remaining balance of the course is payable by BACS no later than four weeks before the driving course is due to start. Once payment has been completed we can not refund any of your driving course unless we encounter an issue with your course. This is due to the fact that our courses are booked and planned months ahead and as such the instructor time will be allocated and they will need paying even if you decide not to go ahead with the driving course.

If the remaining balance isnt paid on time then an additional admin fee of £25 will apply.

If after booking your driving course and before the minimum 4 weeks cut off point is reached, you need to change the arranged dates then an additional fee of £25 will be applied.

In case of an emergency or family bereavement please contact our office at your earliest convenience and we will work with you to resolve any issues with starting or completing your course. On such occasions we may be able to move your course but an admin fee will apply  to cover the instructors loss of income. Please check with our office for the amount as it will vary depending on the lenth of your course.

Please be aware on occasion the DVSA can change the arranged driving test time and date with short notice. Unfortunately if this happens it will beyond our control but we will do all we can to find the next available driving test for you and may also hold back some of your hours for this if possible but this will also have to be agreed with the allocated driving instructor.

All of intensive driving courses come with an additional driving test just in case you dont pass first time, this additional test isnt free but is included in the course deposit and is on condition that the hours leading up to the re-test and the test itself are taken with one of our instructors. Unfortunately if you decide to take your test in your own car without our instructor, then we will not pay for the additional test.

If you are having any issues with your driving instructor on your intensive driving courses then please get in touch with our office as soon as possible but this must be before the end of your course and anything you tell us will be treated with the stricted confidence.

UNDER 17S DRIVING SESSIONS BOOKING

Under 17s driving session bookings are none refundable, once you book your place the space is allocated to you and we then book as many instructors and time at the venue as needed. Therefore we are unable to refund Under 17s Driving Session. You are allowed to re-sell or give your session to someone else but you will need to inform us at least 48hrs before the event is booked as we will need to update our system with the new drivers details.

If enough notice is given then we may be able to change your booking to another date but an admin charge of £25 will apply as we still need to pay the instructor for your allocated space.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift Vouchers are valid for 1 year from issue, the start and finish date will be on the gift voucher. Vouchers are refundable but there will be a charge of 25% of the cost if refunded 0-5 months and 50% charge if refunded 5-12 months. After 12 months no refund will be given on Gift Vouchers.

Under 17s gift vouchers are either booked for a specific event or are open ended and need booking for the event in advance, these vouchers can not be refunded.

PAYMENTS MADE THROUGH OUR WEBSITE

If you pay for driving lessons through our website please be aware that we are a busy driving school and there may be a wait to commence your driving lessons with us. If we can not book your first driving lesson in the next 60 days then a full refund will be given. Any questions or concerns please call or email our office staff before purchasing your lessons online.

All payments through our website will be charged in British pounds and may aquire a small fee from your credit provider if you are purchasing these lessons from outside the UK.

REFUNDS AND COMPLAINTS POLICY

A full refund for a pre-booked lesson will only be issued if zero hours have been used and you have paid 2ND2NONE direct by debit/credit card/bank transfer. To receive a refund, you should contact us in writing within 30 days of the purchase date.

In the unlikely event that you are not fully satisfied with a recent driving lesson with us, please inform us of the reasons why via email and forward to [email protected]. Our office manager will look at your email and contact you as quickly as possible.

When purchasing gift vouchers, please be aware they are valid for six months from the date of purchase. Once the first lesson has commenced, the learner has a further six months to complete the lessons from the gift voucher.

All pre-paid block booking offers are valid for six months from the date of purchase. If you have any issues commencing your first lesson within the 6-month time frame, then please notify us by email, we may be able to help you: [email protected] (so we have proof of your problems/circumstances). Unfortunately, if you contact us after the six months have expired, then you risk losing any remaining lessons.

If buying training / lessons and a discount rate or special offer was used at the time of purchase, (this includeds block booking discounts) then any refund of remaining hours will first be subject to any used hour calculated at full price. ie example: You purchase 10 hours of training for £350 = £35 per hour. Say you used 6 hours, we would calulate the 6 hours used at our standard hourly rate of £47.50ph x 6 = £285 and refund you the ballance of £65.

Once you commence your first driving lesson from a pre-paid booking/gift voucher (which you have six months to book in), you then have a further six months to complete the remaining lessons with your allocated instructor.

If you experience difficulty booking in with your instructor for whatever reason, then you must put this in writing to us before your lessons expire to avoid disappointment: [email protected]

If you book a block of lessons and are unable to continue with them, we can issue a credit note for your remaining lessons; which can be used with another 2ND2NONE driving instructor (expires six months from issue). Block bookings are non-refundable unless zero hours have been used.

If you book an intensive course with 2ND2NONE and you then choose to cancel before commencing any course – you will lose your deposit and if you decide to cancel with any less than 4 weeks prior notice to the start of your course, you will lose the entire fee. All intensive courses require a minimum 4 weeks notice to cancel or change. Your instructor has booked your lessons out in their diary and has committed to you. An intensive course requires a lot of planning. Driving instructors are self-employed franchisees.

We believe that any complaints about the instructor’s training vehicle, ethnic origin, sex or training resources is a form of preference and should be stated when booking the first lesson, not after your first lesson.

If you have any problems or wish to raise a complaint, please consult your allocated 2ND2NONE instructor first. If you are still unhappy, then put this in writing by email to [email protected]. Please include your best contact number and our office manager will contact you as soon as possible. If you have lessons outstanding and you would like a refund for the remaining lessons, please raise your concerns within the email and state why you wish to receive a refund for any remaining lessons. If you have paid your instructor directly by cash, or through the TOTAL DRIVE app payment button, then you should ask for a receipt for payment from the instructor. Please be aware 2ND2NONE DRIVING SCHOOL Ltd is not responsible for any monies exchanged between the instructor/s and pupils.

If your complaint is regarding your test preparation, please tell us in advance, not after your test so that we can help you. This gives you and us the best possible chance of passing the first time.

Please understand that every instructor has their own way of teaching. If you have decided to seek a second opinion from another driving school and they disagree with our instructor’s teaching methods, it doesn’t always mean your new school is right. If you have any issues regarding your lessons, then please speak to your instructor or alternatively contact us at [email protected].

ADMIN FEES

An Admin fee of £5 (inc VAT) is payable for any lesson package including blocks of cash or gift vouchers purchased though the 2ND2NONE DRIVING SCHOOL LTD office. We charge this fee to administer the booking process on your behalf between you and your instructor and to contribute to the cost of administering your funds in the Client Account.
